Program Unit Funding (PUF) Services
The Learning From Play Educational Foundation is dedicated to providing quality educational and developmental intervention to special needs children in community settings. The foundation offers Program Unit Funding (PUF) services for children with severe language delays, diagnoses such as Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Autism, or genetic diagnoses.
PUF services can be accessed as early as 2 years 8 months for a maximum of 3 years, with the last year intended for Kindergarten. The foundation provides three models of access for PUF services, including small group intervention on-site at office locations, support in a community setting, and intervention in multiple locations.
The foundation operates in Spruce Grove and Windermere, offering comprehensive and well-structured services to support the development of children with additional support needs.
Early Intervention Programs
Our early intervention programs are overseen by a Certificated Teacher and are designed to provide specialized support and education to young children with speech and language delays, developmental delays, or additional diagnoses such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or multiple medical disorders. We focus on fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment to promote the overall growth and development of each child.
Speech and Language Therapy
We offer specialized speech and language therapy programs tailored to the individual needs of each child. Our team of dedicated professionals works closely with families to ensure effective communication and language development.
Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapy programs aim to enhance the independence and functional abilities of children with special needs. We focus on developing essential skills for daily activities (tolieting, dressing, feeding), sensory processing, motor coordination and pre-academic skills such as pre-printing shapes and cutting.
Behavior and Social Support
We provide comprehensive social skills development programs to help children with special needs build meaningful connections, develop positive relationships, and thrive in social settings.
